summer bag

A sweet summer sales find from &Other Stories.
Had been eyeing on this one for a while and was more than happy to take it home with a -50% discount. Sometimes waiting game is the best one to play.

The heatwave in London left me dreaming about beach days and that refreshing ocean breeze. Luckily dreams do come true and sometimes all it takes is a train trip to Brighton.

We ended up having a lovely day there despite the crazy wind and got into that vacay mood that we all love. And now that I know that I have a beach day just a short train ride away, I know where I'll be spending sunny summer days.

June has been treating us well.
With the temperature rising up to +30 degrees, I find myself spending all my free time outdoors.
And whether it's an hour after work or a whole day spent enjoying the sun, it definitely gets you in a holiday mood.

Easiest style trick for days of heat? Wear your swimsuit as a top and just swap the shorts/skirts - no one will notice that you're basically wearing the same thing every day.

Happy Sunday !

FRIDAY FIVE

just now1-057

Can't believe how fast these weeks are going by. I'm almost done with training, only a few more days left. Right now I'm enjoying a day off - the reality is that I'm typing this from my bed, still wearing pyjamas.

But I guess that's sometimes exactly what one needs. A proper day off, to just be and do nothing.

1. My colour crush on beige is still going strong. Combining it with light denim and shades of white, to create that easy-breezy summer look that I'm aiming for.

2. A top tip for summer activities? Go for a picnic and do it often. Whether it's just buying some strawberries and white wine for an afternoon hang out with friends or a proper three course meal enjoyed in your favorite park, go outdoors. That's what summer is all about, enjoying the sunny days with people you love.

3. On my shopping list I have mainly just home things, that's what happens when you have a new place. But in addition to that, I'm having a thing for hoarding skincare products. Do you have any recommendations for facial creams? I'm thinking of trying out Kiehl's as I've heard good things about the brand. I also need to find a good blush, so definitely needing your tips for the best products.

4. So inspired about this post by Lucy Williams. And suddenly I think I need more summer dresses in my life.

5. Last weekend I met up with Karoliina for coffee. She's that person who just has a great eye for style and she does it effortlessly. And I think you should definitely follow her on instagram @karoliinamyllykangas

Late hang outs at Soho Grind.
And choosing the best spot for sipping coffee and spying out the real street style of London.

Grind is definitely one of the nicest coffee shops in town and luckily there is quite a few of them.

I recently scrolled through photos I had saved for inspiration a few years back. What I loved about them, was the fact that they still felt relevant and inspiring even a few years later.

Whether it's that song you love years after years, a favorite knit you always want to put on the minute you get home from work or a favorite pair of shoes you choose to wear with everything, things that are chosen with love, last.

I quite often feel like my outfits repeat themselves and I can't help myself from thinking that there is nothing to give as a blogger who wears the same items week after week. But maybe that is the thing - wearing items that you can combine in various ways and things you want to choose on a daily basis, instead of wearing them once or twice before getting bored and rid of them. And while I feel tempted to buy new things constantly, I realize more and more the importance of owning the right things instead of having a lot of things. That's what an interesting and sustainable style is all about and that is what I want to share here.

FRIDAY FIVE

just now1-056

Finally taking a little brake from studying, my cabin crew training has been really interesting but pretty intense so far. So a little inspiring moment was much needed and thought I'd share a few things that I'm loving right now.

1. Mustard yellow/tones of orange feel very chic right now. Eyeing on those knotted sandals from Mango, as they would look especially lovely with my white denim culottes.

2. Since moving into a new home, I've been all about interior design lately. It's a slow process, as most of my things still are packed and far away back in Finland, but a few bits and pieces here and there are coming together and this place is starting to feel like home.

3. Continuing on that home decor note, brown leather and golden details on a simple background are definitely details that I'd love in my apartment.

4. As the perks of my future job (fingers crossed I pass all the exams I still have left on my training course..) little minivacays will be a frequent things. Which means, vacay wardrobe must be on point. Currently coveting over swimwear and embroided blouses.

5. Weekend reading tip. The newest issue of the Porter magazine - so inspiring !
